Just finished a scarf for a friend and thought I would share. I love this shade of blue. I made it with Sensations bamboo and ewe yarn. It's a little, tiny bit on the itchy side, but incredibly warm for a lightweight scarf. I think it can go either way, warm for cold days, light enough for warm days...
I used the same pattern as the Desert Sand scarf I made awhile back. The crochet technique is called Broomstick lace. It's a lot of fun, very easy and very quick. It only took me so long because I procrastinate and I ran out of yarn. I'm mailing it tomorrow so that Kelly gets to use it before the Texas summer begins, which is end of April/beginning of May.
I am still on a blogging hiatus, but I'm working on things between studying to calm my testing anxiety.

ReplyDeleteI wore my scarf yesterday btw! It kept me nice and cozy since it was a breezy and chilly day. It's like my friend Elizabeth was keeping me warm. Cheese? Yeah, so?
ReplyDeleteSooo, did I understand that right, that is Kelly's scarf??? It's is gorgeous!!! Seeing as how she is my sister I think I may have to borrow it. And accidentally steal it forever.
This scarf is seriously so easy to make, now worries, I will just make you one. The same color or different color? You choose. Or if you are ever in hobby lobby or michaels and come across a yarn you love, let me know which kind and I will buy it. I think I will have to make everyone a scarf every 2 years or so as my technique gets better!!!
ReplyDeleteI love love love the color. I am sort of sensitive to itchy materials though. Especially around my neck (I once had a turtle neck that could have been legally defined as a form of torture.) But I know you have lots in your bucket so no hurry. I don't want to be greedy with your talent. :) I also gave Kelly a heads up about the scarf and told her she is going to love it.
