sketchup dream

I had a sketchup (3d modeling program) dream last night that I thought I would share with you. So, in reality mona was snoring so loud. I think I was halfway between consciousness and subconciousness. But I kept trying to resolve the snoring with a sketchup command. First I drew a soundproof box around her. That didnt work, so I tried finding a mute command (there wasn't one, but I could have sworn I had seen it before), then I tried deleting layers because I thought it would help her breathe better. This all sounds completely ridiculous as I type it out. But thats how dreams go. She finally stopped snoring when the birds started chirping. Now its time to start my day!

Spin

So I had to drop off exit diagrams that my office drew for the bar we designed, now that they are officially open. Earlier today the Owner said I could leave them with the bartender. So I arrived at 4:45 and the music was already loud. I approached the bartender explaining who I was and what was enclosed in the envelope I slid across the counter. He gave me the strangest look and said "excuse me?" I repeated myself. Again he said "I'm sorry, I didn't hear you." This went on a couple more times before he noticed the owners name on the envelope. But it left me thinking...I have never been into a bar where a bartender couldn't hear me. Aren't bartenders supposed to have superpower hearing ? I guess the superpower hearing only works for words like "Budweiser" and "Vodka Tonic."

My name is Elizabeth and I'm a weirdy

I apologize to the sqeamish amongst us. But I can't help it. The above, is a hair stuck to the wall in my bathroom, its been there for months. I leave it there because it looks like a woman in a headdress wearing a clinical mask. Does it not? I really like when random things take shape into something. Maybe its just my imagination. But I'm sure you have had the same experience with clouds.

Oh Deary!

So I just realized that my blog name is shared with that of a mega bible site. I don't like competing with something like that. I might be looking into changing the name. I just thought, ok my name + the end of creation and realization (thoughts) because I create things and think. And believe it or not, it took me forever to come up with that. Which is one reason I didn't start a blog for so long. Hmm...any suggestions?

Well, I think I came across that mega bible site for a reason. A prayer is definitely in order for one of my friends and her family who are just having a really rough month.

testing

So I got a new book of crochet and knit stitches recommended by my dear friend Alicia. It is awesome. I don't even know where to start. But I just randomly picked one. Here is a sample of one crochet stitch. The book refers to it as "aligned cobble stitch" but I used a bigger hook so mine looks different. Well I might be trying a bunch of these before I post the finished secret project (its not so secret anymore). I was also eager to use this yellow yarn. Its wavy and when it gets twisted its kind of springy in the weirdest way. It's texture is so familar, I am trying to think of how to describe it. It's on the tip of my tongue...................................and I have lost it. When I remember it, I will add it to the words I had trouble remembering today which include: Bohemian and Scupper.

Don't Stop Believin'

Yeah well I was going to bed, but then Dooce's blog mentioned Journey and it made me miss LA. While living in LA, I would sigh every time Journey's most famous song came on, for some reason they play it EVERYWHERE. No kidding. Well its about time for some Journey. We could all use a little bit of that song these days. So I would like to dedicate this song to first and foremost Kayla and you know why. And secondly, to all those out there who have lost their jobs or may be losing them. Thirdly, to Justin, who I am sure believes Ramona the beagle will never grow out of her bad habits. Fourthly (is there ever a fourthly?), to all those in Chicago who believe summer will never come. And lastly, to those Angelenos that sing this tune daily.

A message from your small town girl, living in a lonely world....

Im ouuut.

My new addition

So I did it. I bought a little sewing machine. Its craft sized (so for smaller projects only) this way it was cheaper, I could ship it through amazon (instead of renting a car) and it fits in my tiny apartment. It arrived last week but I have yet to use it. It intimidates me. Don't make fun! Maybe I should sign up for a class. But I thought I would do that for crochet and look I didn't even need it. Same for knitting, but I think my knitting skills could still use a little tweaking. Alrighty. Stay tuned for more projects/posts. The secret project is nearly done and not so secret.

Ps-yes that's a budweiser hiding in the background. its late and photoshop isn't an option.

Thanks for all the kudos! I'm glad you like the blog. More posts coming soon! I'm taking requests, if anybody needs anything crocheted...I will add it to my project list.

My first fiber project ever

This was the first crochet project. I decided during my break in Texas that I would crochet. I thought it would be a nice cheap hobby. Boy was I wrong. Now instead of buying new clothes, I make scarves. Which in Chicago is more useful really. Nobody ever sees what I am wearing because I always have my coat on...but a nice bright cheery scarf is good on a cold winter day. Or a cold spring day. Enough about the cold already. So yes I started to crochet this in the 100 degree heat. I caught on quite quickly. This is all double crochet. Very simple and easy. But out of all the stuff I have made, I wear this one the most.
